Who are the Beautification Buddies?
Did you know our community entrance flower bed, club house flowerbeds and the Memorial Garden are all spaces maintained entirely by volunteers? Did you know the Westwood Shores' signage and water fountains were purchased by the Beautification Buddies? We are a small group of residents who donate our time and energy to make our community feel more welcoming and cared for. However we do not work alone - we rely on your support through donations and fundraisers to keep our projects going.
Why do we do it?
We do it because we care and we love Westwood Shores. It helps to build pride, improves our property values and strengthens community spirit.
Over the past 7 years, we have raised over $40,000. These monies have allowed us to purchase or improve the following:
- Front entrance fountain
- Memorial garden and club house water fountains
- Signs at the Memorial garden, the country club
- Re-landscaped the Memorial garden
- New Bluebird Sign
- Planting of 2 Holly trees at the club house
- Refurbish and painting of storage shed
- Seasonal mulching and planting of new plants
- Most lately - donation of $12,000 to the POA for the new stone entrance sign going up
How do we raise all this money?
- Your personal donations
- Pecan Sale
- Memorial Garden Brick Sale
- Fall Garage Sale
- Phil the Box (Clothes donation)
We’re your Beautification Buddies – a group of neighbors who care deeply about the place we all call home. Together with each of you, we make our community a place we’re proud of. Whether you donate, volunteer, or simply say “thank you”, you’re part of this effort. Your encouragement and support helps us keep going.
With Gratitude,
The Beautification Buddies

CHAPEL IN THE PINES
We meet every Sunday morning at 9:00am for worship. The sermons are taken directly from God’s Word. You are welcome to attend no matter what church you belong to as the Chapel in the Pines is non-denominational. You will always be welcome to this friendly congregation of believers. Casual dress is the norm at our services. The Chapel is located on the hilltop in Marina Village Resort.

The Civic Association is a wonderful way to get to know your community with a variety of social activities. We offer both member only and open to the whole community events. We also use membership dues along with assorted fundraisers to give back to the community based on POA and community needs.
Member Only Events
Membership status is verified before a members only event. If you are not a current member within our records, membership is $10 a person, membership fee(s) will be collected at the event. Please feel free to inquire anytime on your membership status. wsca@wwsconnect.com
The Civic Dinner is a civic membership only function. Dinners entail fun activities and a wonderful menu planned by the event coordinators and prepared by the 19th Hole Bar and Grill. Each individual plate is priced according to the event menu. Reservation fees will be collected at the door.
There is an official RSVP and Cancellation form for all Civic Member Only Events and is the required process to officially file your event status. There are multiple sources of communications for Civic contacts and information is prone to being lost or missed with multiple communication sources.
Event RSVP
RSVP for a members only event is required for participation. No RSVP, NO reserved seat. For dinners the 19th Hole requires the serving number directly following a RSVP deadline of an event. Please understand, we are contracted to pay the 19th Hole based on the number of dinner reservations filed by the RSVP deadline, regardless if you actually attend or not.
Event Cancellation
Please report for an individual or whole party cancellation
- Before an Event RSVP deadline. Reporting before the Event RSVP deadline is highly appreciated and saves unwanted costs for the association.
- After an Event RSVP deadline as soon as you can. We will do our best to help you but it is ultimately your responsibility to honor that commitment and dinner cost.
To name a few:
- July
- Ice Cream Social
- October
- Trick or Treat on the Patio
- November
- Thanksgiving Dinner
- December
- December Theater Show Nights
- Christmas Cookies
- Christmas Tailgating and Caroling
- Cards & Claus
